The 6 Figure Entertainer Booking Blueprint

How to go from underbooked and overlooked to consistent, six-figure entertainment gigs.

Why Most Entertainers Stay Stuck

If you’re reading this, you’re probably an entertainer who’s tired of the same cycle: one month you’re busy, the next you’re staring at an empty calendar. One gig pays well, the next barely covers your gas.

I’ve been there. In my early years as a hypnotist, I was performing in bars for next to nothing, hoping the exposure would somehow turn into real bookings. Spoiler: it didn’t.

The truth is, most entertainers don’t fail because they’re untalented. They fail because they don’t have a system. Talent gets you on stage. Systems keep you booked, paid, and scaling toward six figures.

This blueprint will give you the same roadmap I’ve used (and taught others) to turn raw talent into a six-figure entertainment business.

Step 1: The Mindset Shift

Before we talk strategies, we need to fix what’s between your ears. Because until you see yourself as a professional, no one else will.

The Hobbyist vs. The Pro

  • Hobbyist: “I hope someone books me.”

  • Pro: “I create opportunities.”

  • Hobbyist: “I sell a show.”

  • Pro: “I sell outcomes — fun, connection, excitement, memories.”

  • Hobbyist: “I’ll take what they can afford.”

  • Pro: “I charge what I’m worth and attract clients who value it.”

My Shift
I used to believe dropping my price would land me more gigs. Once, a client balked when I quoted $1,200 instead of $1,000. I almost caved. Instead, I held firm. Two weeks later, they booked at full price. That client went on to hire me again, refer me, and today still pays me $3,600.

Lesson: Confidence in your value attracts better clients. Doubt attracts discount shoppers.

Step 2: The Gig Flow Formula

Every entertainer needs a simple flow for how gigs move through their business. Without it, you’ll always be chasing instead of choosing.

Here’s the formula:

  1. Attract – Lead generation. Ads, referrals, SEO, networking.

  2. Capture – Collecting inquiries. Use forms, email, or a CRM.

  3. Convert – Scripts, proposals, and follow-up that closes deals.

  4. Deliver & Multiply – Blow them away on stage, collect reviews, and create referral loops.

The pros don’t just perform gigs. They multiply them.

Step 3: Where the Gigs Actually Are

Most entertainers sit back waiting for “random calls.” Pros go where the gigs live.

The five core markets for consistent shows:

  1. Corporate Events – Staff parties, conferences, team-building.

  2. Fundraisers – Community groups, nonprofits, and charities.

  3. Schools & Colleges – Grad nights, orientation, assemblies.

  4. Fairs & Festivals – Seasonal, high-energy events.

  5. Community Events – Galas, banquets, service clubs.

Tip: Focus on one or two markets at a time instead of trying to do it all. Specialization = authority.

Step 4: Pricing & Positioning Basics

Pricing is one of the fastest ways to separate yourself from amateurs.

The 3 Levels of Pricing

  1. Survival Pricing – Cheap gigs, burnout.

  2. Market Pricing – Average rates, constant comparisons.

  3. Authority Pricing – Premium rates, chosen for value, not price.

Remember my $1,200 vs $1,000 story? That wasn’t just a win. It was the moment I realized price communicates authority.

If you don’t believe in your value, clients won’t either.

Step 5: Systems & Follow-Up

Here’s the stat most entertainers ignore: 80% of bookings are lost because there’s no follow-up.

Core Systems Every Entertainer Needs

  • Inquiry → Booking: auto-confirmation + quick calls.

  • Booking → Show: contracts, deposits, pre-event checklists.

  • Show → Review: testimonials right after.

  • Review → Referral: ask for introductions.

  • Referral → Rebooking: check-ins and annual offers.

One good system doubles your gigs. Several can triple them. Mix in great positioning and you have a winner.

Step 6: Case Study – The Breakthrough Client

One of my early clients pushed back on price. I held firm. Not only did they book me, they became a cornerstone in my business.

  • Before: nervous about quoting high.

  • After: confident, respected, rebooked.

  • Result: That one client still books me at triple the original fee.

This is what happens when you shift from hobbyist to pro. – If they don’t grow with you then find a new client at the price point you want.

Step 7: The Next Step

You now have the foundation:

  • Think like a pro.

  • Use the Gig Flow Formula.

  • Go where the gigs are.

  • Price with authority.

  • Build systems that multiply.

This works if you work it.

Next, we’ll go deeper: messaging, authority positioning, and scaling beyond just “getting gigs.”

📘 Part 2: Messaging & Scaling.

Step 1: The Power of Messaging

Here’s the truth: most entertainers are selling the wrong thing.

They pitch the tricks, songs, or routines. But event planners don’t care about that. They care about:

  • Will my event run smoothly?

  • Will my boss look good?

  • Will people have a great time?

You don’t sell “a hypnosis show.” You sell “an unforgettable event that’s easy to plan.”

Step 2: Crafting Your Core Message

Ask yourself: what outcome do I deliver?

Examples:

  • Magician: “I help corporate teams break the ice and connect.”

  • DJ: “I keep your dance floor full all night.”

  • Hypnotist: “I create an interactive experience your guests will talk about for years.”

Your message = your promise. And clarity beats cleverness every time.

Step 3: Authority Positioning

Why do some entertainers charge $5,000 while others beg for $500? Positioning.

How to position yourself as the authority:

  • Testimonials & Reviews: social proof sells.

  • Branded Content: consistent posts, pro photos.

  • Media Mentions: local press, podcasts, or features.

  • Case Studies: “Here’s how we made XYZ fundraiser $12,000 in one night.”

The more authority signals you have, the less you need to “sell.”

Step 4: The Booking Conversation

This is where most entertainers lose money. They wing it. Pros use scripts.

Basic Flow:

  1. Build rapport.

  2. Ask about their event goals.

  3. Position your show as the solution.

  4. Quote confidently.

  5. Pause. Let them respond.

  6. Overcome objections with outcomes, not discounts.

Example:

Client: “That’s more than our budget.”
You: “I understand. Most clients I work with find that my show doesn’t just entertain — it makes the event memorable, which means people come back year after year. Can I show you how other clients justified the investment?”

Step 5: Rebooking & Referrals

One gig should lead to five.

Rebooking Loop:

  • After show → ask for testimonial.

  • Follow up with thank-you gift.

  • 3 months later → “How’s planning for your next event going?”

  • Referral incentive → “Who else in your network hosts events like this?”

A six-figure entertainer doesn’t just book gigs. They build repeatable pipelines and runs them!

Step 6: Scaling Beyond Yourself

Once you hit consistent income, it’s time to scale.

Ways to grow:

  • Raise rates: fewer shows, more money.

  • Expand services: upsells like MC hosting, workshops.

  • Outsource admin: hire VA or use a CRM to save time.

  • License/teach: package your system for other entertainers (like you’re doing here).

Six-figures isn’t about hustling harder. It’s about working smarter.

Step 7: The 90-Day Action Plan

Don’t just read this — act.

Next 90 Days:

  • Week 1–2: Write your core message + update your pricing.

  • Week 3–4: Build your inquiry → booking system.

  • Month 2: Reach out to 500 leads in your target market.

  • Month 3: Collect 5 testimonials + post weekly or daily authority building content. – For your market!

By the end of 90 days, you’ll have the foundation, the message, and the start of momentum.
